The terraplane ( land-flyer ) began its lifespan as a model of hudsons essex marque before being marketed under its own name. Orville wright received the first one and amelia earhart, who christened it, was given the second. Another admirer of the terraplane was bank-heist king john dillinger, who had a professional interest in quick getaways. The last ones were 1938s marketed under the hudson name

By the late 1960s toyota was making sales inroads overseas with the corona sedan and coupe but also sought to shed its plain-vanilla image by marketing a sports car as a prestige item. The result was the toyota 2000 gt, a two-seat fastback coupe that was inspired by italian models.

Triumph, which built its first two-wheelers in 1902, went down with the parent bsa group in 1972 and was taken over by a government-backed workers cooperative that, unfortunately, ran out of money at the start of the eighties.

The triumph stag was symptomatic of the decline of the british sports-car industry after the sixties. Even when it was launched in 1970, the stag seemed slightly out of date. Indeed, the car was a project from the sixties that triumph part of the british leylahd group for three years attempted to resurrect. Unfortunately, the stag did not fit neatly into any category.

Triumph Tr3 - 1955-1962
The october 1955 london motor show saw the unveiling of the new triumph tr3 sports car, which supplanted the three-year-old tr2. The newcomer followed the general lines of its predecessor, though a radiator grille covered the frog-mouthed air-intake of the earlier car, and a small rear seat could be fitted as an option.
