Ford Super Deluxe - 1936
Ford automobiles received a minor facelift in 1936. The front end was restyled with new fenders, a longer hood and a more pointed grille. Deluxe models were garnished with brightwork around the grille, headlamps, windshield and taillamps. Mechanical upgrades included a lager capacity radiator for better engine cooling, and new hood louvers and vents. Ford utilized the 85-hp 221-cid V-8 engine for all of their models in 1936, coupled with a 3-speed transmission.

Although purists never forgave ford for making the two-seat thunderbird a four-passenger car for 1958, the move made sense on the balance sheet. Production almost doubled in 1958 and soared to 67,456 for 1959. And motor trend chose the 1958 t-bird as its car of the year.
